Volunteer story medical supplies Andrew I help Hospices of Hope in a number of ways. Hospices of Hope is a Christian charity and from time to time I lead Devotions at the office on a Monday morning. To help save postage costs I help deliver as many envelopes as I can to supporters in my local village. My main role is volunteering at the warehouse and dealing with medical supplies. I am one of a team of three and we spend a day each month at the warehouse sorting, checking and packing medical donations (but not medicines or drugs) from members of the public and some organisations. These are palleted and sent either to Romania or Moldova. I have visited Romania to see the Brasov hospice and to attend the opening of the new Bucharest hospice. It was particularly moving to meet the patients and those involved in their care, both the medical teams and local volunteers.
