Summer Trips in Romania

Volunteer on one of our five summer trips and help us give children in Romania a much needed holiday.

Every summer we run five summer trips for children and we need volunteers to help us do this. The trips are for

  • Children who are patients in our Brasov and Bucharest hospices
  • Children who have recently suffered bereavement
  • Children with close family members in one of the two hospices

These children’s lives are challenging and our summer trips give them a chance to relax and enjoy themselves.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team, with a variety of ages (minimum 16), skills and interests to participate in our trips.

Volunteers are expected to cover their costs and raise money to pay the cost of the trip for the children (£750 for each trip except for the Brasov Holiday Club which is £550). Trips for summer 2019 booked after the 31st March 2019 will each cost £100 more because of air fares (so the majority will be £850 with the Brasov Holiday Club being £650). We have fundraising packs to give you ideas how to raise this money.

The money will cover air fares (from London), transfers to and from the airport in Romania, accommodation and meals as specified for each particular trip.  The money also covers the cost of the trip for a child.

A disclosure and barring application is required.

The trips would also be ideal for companies looking to team build through a corporate social responsibility project.

Please note the dates of these trips may vary as we may increase or decrease the length of a trip by a day because of flight costs/timetables. If the exact dates are important to you please contact us to discuss this before booking your place.

Individual Trips

There may be opportunities from time to time for individuals or groups to volunteer to help in one of the countries where we work.  This might be of interest to medical professionals or a team willing to carry out some manual work.

A trip of this type may be suitable for companies looking to team build through a corporate social responsibility project.

Individual trips would be on a bespoke basis so please contact [email protected] to discuss possible options, or fill out an application form.

Insight Trips

Each year we run Insight Trips to show our supporters some of our work. If you would be interested in seeing our work first-hand but do not wish to volunteer this is a good way of doing this. Details of Insight trips will be posted here but if you want to know more or register your interest please contact us
