Prince Charles visits Hospice Casa Sperantei in Bucharest Prince Charles visits Hospice Casa Sperantei On 31st March 2017, His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, visited Hospice Casa Sperantei in Bucharest. The visit formed part of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of our work in Romania. On his arrival the Prince was introduced to members of staff, Hospice supporters and local government representatives. He then toured the wards and met some of our patients and medical staff. He cut a cake to commemorate the anniversary and unveiled a plaque. The highlight of the visit for everyone was the time the Prince spent with some of the children in their day centre. The Prince sat down with the children at their craft table. The children were painting Easter eggs. A young patient, Maria, who is suffering from a brain tumour, took his hand. She demonstrated her English skills to the Prince by counting to twelve and talked to him about the eggs she had painted.
