Back in September of last year I was asked by Debbie Wilson (Daughter of the Founder) to host the warm up for The Hospices of Hope annual 5k Fun Run. I was thrilled to take the opportunity as I knew how important this event is to the Hospice. I then took part in the event itself - it gave me a whole new respect for runners as I was convinced I was going to pass out running up the (very) steep hill to the finish line!

After my heart rate had returned to its resting value and my legs felt normal again something strange came over me "that was good fun, I want to do it again". There we have it, I had caught the mystical running bug! Jay (Community & Challenge Events Fundraiser) and Debbie then quickly pointed me in the direction of The London Landmarks Half Marathon. With the endorphins of the 5k still rushing through my body, I then agreed to run on behalf of The Hospice.

As I set out on my first training run (around 5k) the reality of the task dawned on me, I have to run that distance 4 times over! But the motivation to raise as much money as possible for the Hospice keeps me going, week in, week out.

If you choose to donate, your money is going to an amazing cause that benefits the lives of so many people. On behalf of the beneficiaries of the donations: thank you very much!
