In 2021 (was meant to be 2020 but COVID-19 had other ideas!), I have decided to take on my biggest challenge personally and professionally... to run a half marathon, that's 13.1miles or 21.1km.

Those of you who know me, will know that I am not a 'runner' and it certainly does not come naturally to put my trainers on and go out for a run! However, this year I am stepping out of my comfort zone and have signed up for the Royal Parks on Sunday 10th October. I am extremely daunted by the thought of having to run this far but I have started my training (I did a 5km fun run for hospice in October 2019 and since two 10km races) but with everyone's support, I know I can do this.

Most importantly, I am doing this to raise money and awareness for a charity extremely close to my heart, Hospices of Hope and in particular their vital work for children.

Children suffering from rare or life-limiting conditions are often completely neglected in the Romanian health care system and children experience trauma as a result of the death of a parent or sibling or socially marginalised.

Parents feel isolated and unable to cope, which can sadly lead to the abandonment of children to state organisations and contribute to problems such as alcoholism, mental stress and family breakdown.

The money raised will help our hospice Bagpuss Wing continue to care for the 150 children they are currently looking after, who suffer from a rare or life-limiting illness.

Thank you for visiting my page and I really appreciate your support and donation.
