One hundred and fifty guests attended the black-tie event in the hotel's beautiful rooftop conservatory. Albanian born violinist, Alda Dizdari, delighted the audience with her music and then officially opened the charity's latest project - the new hospice network in Albania. Soprano, Alinka Kozari, pianist Ana-Maria Andritoiu and Roland Miklos also performed during the evening. Guests heard about hospice patient, Larisa. She is seven years old and has cerebral palsy. Her brother Leonard appeared on X Factor Romania and performed a rap explaining some of the challenges faced by children with disabilities in his country. Former Belgian Ambassador to Serbia, Leo D'Aes, told the audience about his work as Chair of BELhospice's Honorary Patrons Committee which led to the opening of the first hospice centre in Serbia. The event raised more than £32,000. See our article about hospice nurses for details about how that money is being used.
