Role Overview
You will be working as part of a dynamic supporter-focused Fundraising Team concentrating on a growing area of fundraising for the charity.

You will be driving new business to grow our support, as well as building an effective network of long-term relationships across the community from individuals to local businesses and organisations.

You will engage with supporters on a regular basis and offer them an outstanding supporter experience.

You will need to show skills and experience of regularly networking with supporters and stakeholders. You’ll be a strong collaborator, able to deal with people in all walks of life. You’ll be an inspirer, able to paint a vivid picture to donors of why their support to Hospices of Hope is so valuable.

Responsibilities include**

  • To adopt a proactive and forward-thinking approach to identify new opportunities from cold and warm audiences for support, working with both companies, groups, churches, schools, and individuals. Ensuring a strong pipeline of activity and partnerships.
  • To give presentations to the above when required. This will involve some out of hours work.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of our supporter journey and to ensure we are going above and beyond for our supporters. 
  • Represent the charity and develop relationships wherever you go.
  • Manage volunteers where appropriate: recruiting, training and assigning daily tasks.
  • Advise volunteer fundraisers on all aspects of their fundraising including advice on organisation, marketing, charity law and fundraising guidelines for their events/fundraising activities. Supporting on-going fundraising, managing donor communication, ensuring donors are stewarded and thanked within service level agreements.
  • Work with the team to devise, plan and deliver fundraising events in the region.
  • Represent the Fundraising team as required; including attending events when appropriate. This will involve some out of hours work.
  • Use the charity mascot ‘Bagpuss’ and brand TeamBagpuss to raise significant income for The Bagpuss Appeal & our child services.
  • To deliver additional project work as required.


Person Specification
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and outgoing individual who is keen to help assist the Fundraising and Communications Team to increase our income and fundraising supporter base in the UK.  This role would suit someone with excellent communication skills and good at building relationships. You will be given training on all our areas of fundraising and communications as well as training on our fundraising database.  We are looking for someone who is:

  • Excellent written and oral skills and confident in liaising with all supporters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including mail merge (essential)
  • Previous experience in a fundraising, sales or marketing role.
  • Demonstrable success in raising funds (or increasing sales) from community groups
  • Confident in giving oral presentations
  • Experience of donor care or customer service for supporters
  • Experience of volunteer management and development
  • Experience of using a CRM database (essential)
  • Keen to learn and gain experience in a fast paced fundraising and communications team
  • Has a full UK driving license
