Monday's devotions was led by Rick.

He talked to us about 'Kindness'. Hospices of Hope is an organisation built on kindness- we know it is fundamental in the front line work in our countries, but how about here in the office?

Galations 5:22-23 says ‘But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.’

Colossians 3:12 says ‘Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’

How can we in the office show kindness?

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Be Supportive

  1. Don’t talk behind people’s backs
  2. Don’t criticise
  3. Do encourage

Proverbs 27:6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.

Be Straightforward

  1. Be honest and supportive
  2. Give feedback sensitively
  3. Words can hurt, guard how you use them

Galations 3:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people.

  1. Who wouldn’t appreciate
    1. A phone call?
    2. A cup of coffee?
    3. A lunch invite?
    4. A hospital visit?
    5. An offer of help?

Rick finished by sharing this video with us. It is about small acts of kindness and how they can have a profound effect on people.
