Executive Director

Before working for Hospices of Hope in the UK I used to be the CEO of the Romanian team (Hospice Casa Sperantei) and before that I have worked mostly in marketing in Romania.

My day to day responsibilities involve coordinating with our country partners, working together to develop policies and partnerships as well as projects that aim to develop palliative care in vulnerable countries. The executive role obviously involves things like financial supervision, networking, development, reporting and working with bodies like the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee. I am very lucky to have a great team in the UK, doing a great job and a very supportive and skilled Board of Trustees.

The quality of the team in Romania was the reason I joined Hospices of Hope - as a volunteer I remember enjoying spending time with them and admiring their commitment. The definite turning point was when I visited the first patients in Bucharest, I knew then that I wanted to do something.

It has been great meeting people since joining the charity. You have the huge chance of meeting special people, whether it’s patients, supporters, staff members, all of them so inspiring and helping you develop and put things into perspective.

In the future I would like to create sustainable models of care, building up the network and have a regional impact through our programs.
