Help Bagpuss light up the town at the Winter Lantern Parade in Tunbridge Wells!

DATE: 22.02.20

LOCATION: 17 Calverley Road, Tunbridge Wells

The parade assembles outside Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre from 5:30pm, and then sets off down Camden Road to the Grosvenor and Hilbert Recreation Ground - Auckland Road entrance, where there will be music and a range of refreshments from local organisations. Join Bagpuss as he takes part in the festivities!

As with previous years, there will be lantern making workshops in the lead up to the parade - admission to all of the workshops are free.

If you wish to make a lantern, there will be different lantern making packs to choose from on the day which will reflect the parade's theme, 'A night of magic'. These will cost between £5-£10 each depending on size and difficulty.

Each pack will contain all the things that you need to make a lantern, including an appropriate LED light and instruction and you can choose whether you would like to make the lantern at the workshop or take the pack home with you. All you will need is some PVA glue (which will be provided at the workshops) and lots of imagination to make a stunning lantern to show off in the parade!

Artists and CREATE volunteers will be on hand to help at all the workshops so fear not if this is your first time making a lantern and all proceeds from the packs will go towards the parade as well as helping to fund future community workshops.

Places are limited and there will only be a small amount of tickets available on the door so be sure to book your ticket through Eventbrite to guarantee your place in the workshop and to avoid disappointment!
