Technologies like virtual reality can be used to control pain in a very effective and non-invasive manner, can offer experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible to patients, they can increase their quality of life and reduce trauma and costs. We have already opened two VR rooms in our centers in Romania and there will be a an entire wing, a “tech house”, in the center for children we are developing south of Bucharest. Mobile apps, cloud, smart wearables and mixed reality can be used to improve the efficiency of the medical teams, they can empower the beneficiaries of our care and make them active and involved. With your help we can change the way care is delivered and offer better and more support to patients everywhere in the world! A patient quote: “You can go to the ocean, you can go to the mountains, you can play archery, you can do whatever and there are no limitations and that’s…pretty incredible because in a hospital there are A LOT of limitations” With the help of BMS Foundation, NY we have developed and launched an app dedicated to home care palliative care for patients suffering with terminal, life threatening or rare conditions. Cancer patients are one of the main beneficiaries of the project, we will pilot it for the next 4 months and incorporate feedback from patients.
