Carol singing

What fun we had a Tesco's in Orpington and Riverhead and at Sevenoaks Train Station!  Bagpuss came and joined in and lots of money was collected!

Ladies Lunch 6 December

The christmas market bought such a festive feel to the day whilst enjoying a warm glass of mulled wine.  Ladies then enjoyed a festive lunch whilst hearing culinary tips from the team of Chef's at Brandshatch Place Hotel & Spa

Gala Dinner at The Underglobe, 9 November

What an exceptional evening of entertainment that we were treated to at The Underglobe - Anca Nite, Debbie Perolls, Michael Pennington, Ion Caramitru, Nelly Miricioiu, Sergiu Tuhutziu all performed throughout the evening whilst the guest could sit back and enjoy a superb meal followed by an Auction.  A huge thank you to all of our entertainers and our MC for the evening.

Golf Day 23 September

In spite of a rather wet and windy day (although the sun did shine in the afternoon) the annual Golf Tournament was a success. Beavis Morgan, City Accountants, very generously sponsored the tournament providing 28 players, the prizes and a tab at the bar for the day. The tournament was played as a 4 ball Team Stableford and was won by Steve Moore playing off a 9 handicap with Andy Pear, John Wilde and Jon Charsley scoring a very credible 55. Steve also won the only Birdie of the day!
We are delighted that a surplus of £7000 was achieved and we are grateful to so many generous supporters.

We look forward to the golf tournament of 2013 – watch this space for details!
Hoe Down & Hog Roast Saturday 14 July

Thanks to Sir Richard and Lady Plender who opened up their garden and barn where we hosted a dosey doe of an afternoon and evening with good food and dancing..and the rain didn't stop us from having fun!

Jazz at The Cross Keys Friday 6 July

We had a full house at the newly refurbished Cross Keys in Southborough.

Conifers Open Garden 24 June

David Goodwin, a dedicated volunteer opened up his garden and thankfully the sun shone!

Ladies Lunch 21 June

What a delightful luncheon we had - 112 ladies all wearing their best hats for the occassion with the guest speaker giving a talk on Modern Millinery.  Simply lovely, another will follow this Christmas.

Travels Without Your Suitcase

Rick Woodward delighted us all with photographs from his travels whilst we all enjoyed a scrummy meal.  Is there a better way to travel?  No hassle, no delays, we just sat back and enjoyed and felt as though we were really there!  We hope that Rick will continue to share his experiences with us, this really is an event not to be missed.

The first of the challenges has taken place - we had very proud winning and losing teams, its the taking part that counts!  Thanks to James and Dominic for their catering input - the warm chocolate muffins with ice cream were especially yummy!

Comedy Evening 16 January

What a great start to 2012!  We were entertained at The Comedy Store in London by a line up of great Comedians including Nick Revell, Joe Rowntree, Stuart Goldsmith, Iszi Laawrence and many more... With a superb MC for the evening, James Redmond. 

Wreath Making, 5 December

A small team of ladies made beautiful wreaths to display in their homes this Christmas whilst enjoying mince pies, a festive lunch and singing along to Christmas carols!

Ladies Lunch Club, 1 December

This lunch took place at a very festive Brandshatch Place Hotel, the ladies enjoyed a festive lunch after which they were shown how to make their houses sparkle this Christmas by Sevenoaks Florist "Flowers and Sparkle"

Rock n Roll, 26 November

The "Old Boy Network" entertained 100 guests in Otford and the guests danced from arrival to finish.  Definately one not to be missed next year!

Musical Allsorts Evening, 25 November

Christchurch in Tunbridge Wells hosted an evening of musical entertainment with supper on behalf of Hospices of Hope - it was a very relaxed and entertaining evening raising a lovely donation for the work that we do.

City Dinner, 23 November

The Commonwealth Club in London hosted this evening for us with 80 guests in attendance.  Guest speaker was England Rugby Legend, Brian Moore who spoke after a spectular rendition of "Swing Low" and he also succesfully undertook our auction later in the evening.

Murder Mystery Evening, 12 November

"How do you solve a problem like Maria?" was a night of intrigue and fun.  And there were clever people in the audience that guessed who did it!

Fashion Show, 21 October

What fun we had at our girls night in at Christchurch - the shopping was fantastic with such quality donated items, the treatments provided by Mary Kay Cosmetics and Aveda were bliss and the cat walk show was inspiring.

Row-mania!  Dragon Boat Race, Bewl Water, 17 September

Our team of 16 took to the water once more to compete in the three exhausting races in wet and windy conditions at Bewl Water, headed by their Captain, Jill Patterson     - we may not have won a race but it is the taking part that counts!

20th Anniversary Celebrations @ The Roof Gardens, High Street Kensington, London, 17 September

We had a full house for this event which consisted of informal presentiations covering our last 20 years and inspired us all with the exciting plans for the next 20 years.  We had a host of entertainment together with a hot buffet lunch in the beautiful gardens on this spectacular roof top!

Annual Golf Day @ Nizels, Hildenborough, 12 September

Our annual golf day this year was sponsored by Beavis Morgan and our Guest Speaker for the evening meal was Mike Bushell, TV Sports Presenter, who did also play 18 holes of golf during the afternoon! 

Literary Lunch: 17 May 

This lunch was hosted at The Hotel Du Vin in Tunbridge Wells with guest speaker Margaret Durdant-Hollamby.  The lunch was very much enjoyed by all.

Quiz Night : 2 April

The first quiz night for 2011 was as competitive and fun as those last year!  What fun we all had with a lovley supper in our Otford tea rooms.

Manhattan Magic: The Grey Lady

Another evening of good food and great entertainment was enjoyed by all!  Lesley Alexander and The Robert Reid Trio gave a wonderful evening of entertainment to those that were lucky enough to get tickets before we sold out!

Brandywine Music Charity Day @ The Stag Theatre: 12 February

With a group of volunteers we headed down to The Stag Theatre to rattle our collecting boxes whilst enjoying all sorts of bands and acts hosted by Brandywine Music.

Cheese, Wine & Rock n Roll : 15 December

What fun we had!  We were entertained by "The Old Boy Network" at Sunrise Senior Living, Chipstead - there was not a foot that didnt tap, nor a hip that didnt wiggle!

Ladies Luncheon Club :7 December

Brandshatch Place hosted a wonderful festive lunch with guest speaker Paul Harris, Radio Kent DJ and professional pantomime Dame.  This was the first ladies lunch hosted, following the success of the day, Brandshatch have agreed that we can host a few more in 2011 - watch this space!

City Dinner: 18 November 2010

The Hilton London Canary Wharf hosted a wonderful evenign for us us in conjunction with Hilton In The Community Foundation.  Guests were privileged to listen to a welome by Princess Marina Sturdza followed by guest speaker, Paul Szkiler, Chairman of Truestone Asset Management.  The evening concluded with entertainment from Debbie Perolls and her accompanists and an Auction hosted by John Whitbread.

Quiz Night: 13 November 2010

Our Tonbridge team hosted their first Quiz Night in their tea rooms and had a great evening hosted by Barry Smith, Quiz Master whilst enjoying supper. 

Fashion Show: 29 October 2010

What a night!  150 guests, bucks fizz on arrival, good bags for each guest, catwalk show, mini treatments kindly donated by Mary Kay Cosmetics and Aveda and shopping!  We raised £2800, fantastic evening!

Opera Meets Jazz: 15 October 2010

The Royal Wells Hotel hosted this evening whilst we were entertained by Cameo Opera, Robert Reid & Karen Lane.  The evening was truly wonderful, relaxed and entertaining!  We finished with an Auction that raised an exceptional sum of money for the charity. We will certainly be hosting this event again next year!

Saturday Night Fever: 2 October 2010

"The Real Old Skill Disco" did us proud - what a funny night was had by all and we raised £640 for the chairty whilst boogying the night away!

Serbia Night : 8 September 2010

The TAS Restaurant in Borough High Street, London looked after us extremely well with a private area for a drinks reception and a wonderful meal.  We were entertained musically by Debbie and Steve whilst learning how we can do more for Belhospice, Serbia. 

Tea Time With Carol: 4 September 2010

What a performance!  We all sat back and relaxed as Carol Anne Wells took us on a journey through music and film - simply superb.  Thank you to Sunrise Senior Living for supporting the event.

Quiz Night: 16 July 2010

What a fun evening!  Back by popluar demand, we had a full house on Friday evening and raised a total of £445 for the charity. 

Sponsored Sky Dive: 26 June 2010

The team of 6 took to the skies 12000 feet above Headcorn.  Have a look at our video under "What We Do" to see what I cannot put into words!!  So far, they have made a profit of £824!

Radio 4 Appeal:  20 June 2010

Presented by The Duchess of Norfolk, she told of her own personal experience with the charity before talking specifically about one of our patients in Romania that she recently met.  The Appeal is stilll bringing financial rewards, to date we have raised over £6000 as a result of this appeal.

You Raise Me Up!  12 June 2010

Christchurch, Tunbridge Wells were the hosts for this evening and what a wonderful evening of music it was - the audience were entertained by Stuart Pendred, Caroline Clipsham and Eliana Pretorian with interval refreshments being served. 

Golf Tournament: 25 May 2010

This was an extremely well supported day that took place at Bruntsfield Golfing Society in Edinburgh.  The golfers enjoyed a great day and have assured us of support for next years annual tournament!

Fashion Show: 22 May 2010

This took place on the hottest Saturday of the year so far!  Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge Shops hosted the event with excellent donated clothing.  The total raised for the evening was £750.

Intershop Sponsored Slim: 1 March - 21 May 2010

The £'s were raised as the lb's were lost!  The team from Otford won - and their well deserved prize was a cream tea!  Total raised in financial pounds was £607.

Literary Lunch With Sandra Howard:29 April 2010

A wonderfully relaxed luncheon took place at The Brew House Hotel where 50 ladies enjoyed a two course luncheon whilst listening to the talk by Sandra Howard.  Due to the success of this event, there will be another later in the year.

Be A Whizz at the Otford Quiz!: 10 April 2010

A great night was had by all when we tested the knowledge of 7 teams - resulting in a very clear losing team but a very close winner!  All agreed the food was great, atmosphere relaxed and many have asked for a re-run, watch this space!

Gilbert & Sullivan Utopia Ltd: 19 March 2010

Supporters and their guests attended a performance by the Edinburgh Gilbert and Sullivan Society’s (EDGAS) production of Utopia Ltd at the Kings Theatre, Tollcross, Edinburgh on Friday 19th March. This is not one of the well known Gilbert and Sullivan operettas but it was given a roistering redition with plenty of up to date satirical comment on the present political shinanigans. Guests were served drinks during the interval at the Grand Circle Bar and afterwards had an opportunity to meet the cast over a glass of champagne. We were extremely grateful to EDGAS for letting us have tickets at a competitive price and to the staff of the Kings Theatre for looking after us so well. All those who attended enjoyed themselves, had a very amusing evening and the donations continue to come in.

Romania Night: 5 March 2010

We were pleased to host our first event of the year in our Otford Tea Room last Friday - we enjoyed the culinary skills of Romania Chef Ciprian Ublehart - starting off with a glass of Romanian tuica!

Debbie Perolls With Cover Story: Supper & Jazz Evening, 26th February 2010

This event, held at The Grey Lady in Tunbridge Wells, was a huge success. The star of the evening was Debbie Perolls, who sang with her band "Cover Story" – their performance of smooth jazz, pop classics and contemporary soul music was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.

Thank you to all who supported the event and to Debbie Perolls With "Cover Story" who put on a brilliant evenings entertainment.
