How you can help

Volunteers rank amongst our most valuable assets.  People volunteer their time and their skills both in the UK and in Romania.  People find great satisfaction working for a caring organisation.  If you are interested in offering your services to Hospices of Hope please contact us.  We will be very pleased to hear from you.

Are you interested in antiques?

People often turn out their houses and are kind enough to donate some very interesting and valuable items.  We thought it would be a good idea to have all the antique items under one roof.  Little did we realise what a popular idea it would prove to be!  We already have a lovely team of volunteers who look after the shop but we are now so busy we need even more.  If you have an interest in antiques this is an excellent way to spend a morning or afternoon.  If you would like to “make a difference” in this way, please contact us.

Our UK Office

We already have a few volunteers who enjoy helping us with our work in the office in Otford, but we need more help.  Click Here to see how you can help

Our Shops and Tea Rooms

Hospices of Hope is always looking for people who can spare some time to support us by working in our Shops and Tea Rooms. If you would like to join one of the volunteer teams in our shops or Tea Rooms, please Contact us

Volunteering in Romania

Over the years the project has benefited hugely from the input of volunteers.  Doctors, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists and others share their skills at the Hospice Centre or teach at the Education Centre.  Lay volunteers come to Brasov for a Working Holiday to encourage the team, take gifts to patients or help with practical tasks such as painting or gardening.  People who have volunteered to go to Romania have given so much, and have received great personal reward from their experiences.

“As the plane bumped down at Gatwick, my head was still full of so many memories of such a special week.  I had deep respect for the hospice staff and an ease that I now really understood why the teams in both the UK and Romania, do what they do.  I felt sad at having left my new friends behind and frustrated that my world now prevented me from still being out there taking part in it all.  I thanked God that I had been given the privilege to play even the smallest part in these people’s lives.”

Talking Point

If you belong to a group and would like to hear more about our work, we may be able to send a speaker to visit you.  Please phone us on 01959 525110 for further details.

Could you tell others about our work?

You may have already visited the hospice in Romania and have a first hand insight into the needs of our patients.  If so, how would you feel about sharing your experience with others through public speaking?

We are keen to hear from people around the country who could develop a public speaking programme on our behalf in their area.  Additional information and guidance will be given – please ring 01959 525110 for further details.
