Hospices of Hope partner Hospice Casa Sperantei is the leading provider of palliative care in Romania. The Hospice has provided care for over 11,000 patients, and training for more than 9,000 medical professionals. The Open Society Institute has described the Hospice as a Beacon Service, providing a centre of excellence for palliative care in South Eastern Europe.
Forming partnerships with companies enables us to care for more terminally ill children and adults who need our help. Hospices of Hope is an international charity group, incorporating:
The group needs to raise over £1.3m annually to maintain current services.
To develop care further, helping the 95% of the Romanian population who do not have access to specialist palliative care services, we need to raise more. Our Capital Appeal, for instance, has been launched to build a new Hospice of Hope in Bucharest. We aim to raise £640,000 in the UK towards completing this 24-bed centre of excellence by 2011. Your staff can participate in any one of our Events, take up a sponsored challenge or raise funds in a variety of ways. This can build relationships within your company, and reward staff.
If your company operates a matched-giving scheme, your staff can double what they raise whilst the company ensures it is supporting a cause close to the hearts of its employees.

Gifts in Kind
Your company can choose to give through shares, staff secondments or through gifts. We use gifts for prizes at corporate or sporting events, or can market them through our network of 14 shops. For example, we been fortunate to receive pro bono auditing, HR support and other busines services.

Charity Nomination
You can nominate Hospices of Hope for your company’s Corporate Responsibility Scheme or equivalent. We can provide you with a range of speakers with recent involvement in southeastern Europe, a DVD about Hospices of Hope, and printed information.

Pro Bono Partnerships
Hospices of Hope works hard to minimise administrative costs. One way we do this is through Gifts in Kind. It involves the generosity of companies contributing goods and services - IT, office equipment, printing, legal or HR advice etc. – at no cost to us.
Does your company have goods or services that can benefit Hospices of Hope? We can then publicise you as a Hospices of Hope corporate partner. This gives you branding opportunities, logo exposure and the opportunity to use our logo to show your charitable support.

Payroll Giving
If your company offers a Payroll Giving Scheme, you can sign up for Payroll Giving ('Give As You Earn') and make regular donations to Hospices of Hope direct from your pre-tax salary. On each payday an amount of your choice is deducted by your payroll department and sent to Hospices of Hope. Because your giving is taken before tax, for every £1 you give the cost to you is just 80p! If your tax threshold is higher, then the cost to you is just 60p). The Revenue pays the difference.
