Beacon Partners

Casa Albert (Bacau, Romania)

“Part of the ‘Sharing the Care’ Vodafone project, Hospice Casa Albert, is a development by the UK charity, Cry in the Dark, and a ‘Beacon Partner’ of Hospices of Hope. Situated in north-east Romania, in the city of Bacau, Casa Albert currently provides community hospice care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-shortening conditions such as cancer, congenital conditions such as muscular dystrophy, and HIV/AIDS.”

Emmanuel Hospice (Oradea, Romania)

“Situated in north-west Romania, Hospice Emmanuel is another ‘Beacon Project” partner. Founded by Marinela Murg, who trained at Hospice Casa Sperantei, Hospices of Hope have supported Emmanuel with running a training course for doctors and nurses in Oradea and securing funding for the continuing work of the Hospice.”

Something for Romania (Cluj, Romania)

“Founded in 1996 by Lachie MacLeod MBE, this foundation began by transporting medical equipment and supplies for the impoverished population of Romania. The efforts are now concentrated on raising money to support a local charity providing free palliative home-care for seriously and terminally ill patients.”
